The First Annual “Art in Sharpe Park” was held on Saturday, May 14th from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and was a raging success. Eleven artists, craftspersons and purveyors set up shop in the tranquil environs of Sharpe Park, our neighborhood gem, lovingly maintained by The Garden Workers and the township. We look forward to the Second Annual “Art in Sharpe Park” in May, 2012! Announcements will be mailed in advance to all Haverford residents and business owners.
The Haverford Civic Association would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to the artists, craftspersons and purveyors in attendance, our local residents who browsed the park and supported this event, the Parks and Recreation Department of Lower Merion Township, our Commissioners Steven Lindner (Ward 4), Cheryl Gelber, Esq. (Ward 5) and V. Scott Zelov (Ward 10), The Garden Workers, the real estate and legal departments of SEPTA for providing use of the Haverford Station parking lot and, most of all, to our Secretary and board member, Jane Carton, for her creativity, enthusiasm and organization of this soon to be annual event.
Art in Sharpe Park is sponsored by the Haverford Civic Association for the benefit of our neighbors, local businesses and friends. Admission is complimentary.
