April 2024 Board Meeting

Tuesday, April 9 – 7 p.m.

Discussion topics included Sharpe Park Community Work Days and engagement with Lower Merion Township Manager McNeeley and others regarding Montgomery Ave traffic safety.

March 2024 Board Meeting

Tuesday, March 12 – 7 p.m.

Discussions topics included:

proposed changed to the Lower Merion Township noise ordinance
Automated Red Light Enforcement for Lower Merion Township (the Board of Commissioners agreed to investigate opportunities)
pending agreement to settle billboard litigation
Lower Merion Community Watch – needs a delegate from each Civic; conducting dog-walker training April 18th at the fire house on Greenfield Ave
a three-tiered membership structure to start January 2025, including: Basic HCA membership, Birdwatcher (supporting Sharpe Park & Bird Sanctuary), and Snowflake Sponsor
Twilight in Sharpe Park to take place September or October 2024

February 2024 Board Meeting

Tuesday, February 13 – 7 p.m.

In addition to membership and traffic safety, other discussion topics included:

the upgrade of the Haverford Train Station to at Class 1 Historic Resource
Sharpe Park Community Work Days

January 2024 Board Meeting

Tuesday, January 9 – 7 p.m.

Discussion topics included:

feedback from the annual meeting – more than 60 people attended; the next annual meeting will be in November 2024
membership – including following up on lapsed members
Montgomery Ave traffic safety – the Board of Commissioners has created an ad hoc traffic safety committee, with Commissioner Gavrin as chair
snowflake updates, Sharpe Park events, and more

2023 Annual Member Meeting

Tuesday, December 12- 7 p.m.

Haverford Civic Association will hold its Annual Meeting for all members on Tuesday, December 12, at the Merion Cricket Club. Our speaker will be Paloma Vila, Lower Merion Township Sustainability manager. We have met our room capacity but you can join us via Zoom. Register here:

November 2023 Board Meeting

Tuesday, November 14 – 7 p.m.

Haverford Civic Association held its November board meeting on Tuesday, November 14, at the Merion Cricket Club. Discussions centered primarily on preparations for the Annual Meeting, membership and dues.

October 2023 Board Meeting

At the regular monthly board meeting, Haverford Civic Association members discussed membership and the upcoming annual meeting, as well as Sharpe Park, traffic on Montgomery Avenue, and Lower Merion Township’s new sidewalk policy proposal.

September 2023 Board Meeting

Haverford Civic Association held its regular monthly board meeting. Agenda items included a review of a development project near the Haverford train station, upcoming Clean-Up days in Sharpe Park, traffic on Montgomery Avenue as well as reports from the various committees and continued discussion of unfinished business.
