On Monday, October 26, Lower Merion Township and Narberth Borough will host a public meeting to present the long‑awaited preliminary recommendations for improving traffic safety on Montgomery Avenue. These recommendations are based on crash and safety data from the Montgomery Avenue Traffic Study as well as public input. The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the second‑floor boardroom of the Township Building at 75 E. Lancaster Avenue in Ardmore.
The presentation will outline proposed improvements to key segments and intersections along Montgomery Avenue to enhance safety for drivers, pedestrians, and bicyclists. Township staff emphasize that these recommendations are conceptual and do not represent final designs, required approvals, or funding commitments. Your participation is therefore essential.
Traffic safety is a complex issue shaped by driver and pedestrian behavior, vehicle design, roadway design, speed management, education, and enforcement. To help you prepare for the meeting, we’ve provided an updated, illustrated version of our primer “Traffic Calming: What’s It All About?” We look forward to seeing you on October 26 and hearing your feedback on the Township’s recommendations.
